“Come to me all you who are burdened

and I will give you rest”

Here I am, Lord.

I come to seek your presence.

I long for your healing power.

Knowing that God loves me unconditionally, I can afford to be honest about how I am.

I pause for a moment and think of the love and the grace that God showers on me: I am created in the image and likeness of God; I am God’s dwelling-place.

At any time of the day or night we can call on Jesus.

He is always waiting, listening for our call.

What a wonderful blessing.

No phone needed, no e-mails, just a whisper.

I exist in a web of relationships – links to nature, people, God. I trace out these links, giving thanks for the life that flows through them.

Some links are twisted or broken: I may feel regret, anger, disappointment. I pray for the gift of acceptance and forgiveness.

Jesus, you always welcomed little children when you walked on this earth. Teach me to have a childlike trust in you. To live in the knowledge that you will never abandon me.
